He just let the experience of the memory wash over him so he could give her a good answer about what he experienced. There- he obviously saw it, and he could hear too, loud and clear with those demon-ears of his. Scent- yes, faintly, barely, and emotion- somewhat. He could sense the type of emotion each scene should provoke, but not as if the memory was his own. He let himself drift back, between the memory and full awareness-line.
"Uh, I can hear it, see it obviously." His eyes peeked open to glance at his princess, licking his lips almost subconsciously, before closing his eyes again. The memory vaguely visualized in the back of his mind while his eyes opened, and went full-frontal when he closed them again.
"I can smell a little bit, but only vaguely. And I can tell what kind of emotion is supposed to be in each memory. Not quite feeling it myself- Not sure if that makes sense... Um- the memory's feel evokes emotions without forcing them." He tried to explain it the best he could, opening his eyes slowly again as the memory disappeared.
"That's an amazing... ability," he said, honesty and awe lacing his voice. Though he had to wonder, did the ability come from being so close, or just because she had the ability with everyone? He didn't want to ask- he didn't feel the desire right now. He felt too warm, here with her. Comfortable. He didn't want to get technical yet.

It was almost identical - not quite, a little more distant, but that was to be expected. She didn't move, staying right where she was a moment longer, looking just about as amazed as he was. Pleased, she finally pulled her head away, curling up to his chest, slipping an arm up and over his side. Within seconds, she had fallen asleep, small smile still on her face.
---- Time skip to morning ----
There was no light to wake up to, but some internal clock must have told her it was sunrise, for her eyes opened slowly. She carefully, quietly slipped away, sitting on the edge of the bed a moment, staring at him over her shoulder. She should leave word, tell him where she was going. She bit her lip a moment, then spotted the dusty surfaces. She quickly rubbed a message into the dust: 'I'll be back.' Just in case he got up. She didn't know if he'd see it, but oh well.
With that, she slipped back out the tunnels, scorching the stone black in the shape of arrows at the junctions to keep him from getting lost. Or, at least, hopefully. When she finally reached the morning air, she took a deep breath in, looking down the drop. She could change in that time. She hoped. She knew this was normally how draca parents convinced their children to fly for the first time - albeit, on a much, much high cliff so that they had ample time to stop freaking out. She paced for a good two minutes before she finally just spun and, at a sprint, ran to the edge, vaulting over and free falling for a moment.
And it was absolutely amazing.
The wind in her face, the freedom of knowing she could stop it at any time... it was exhilarating. She could feel the adrenaline pumping, but not in the uncontrollable manner that caused the changes to be dangerous. She closed her eyes a moment and, with a mere thought, she could feel her bones start to snap and crack and grow. Her eyes shot open again as her pupils slitted and suddenly her vision was much clearer, second eyelids closing to stop her eyes from watering at the speed of the wind that whipped past. She unfurled her wings, feeling them catch air....
And then fear shot through her heart like a bullet as sudden, sharp pain ricochetted through one wing, causing her to snap it back in and spiral down, flailing and uncontrolled as she crashed into the tree tops she had intended to skim, tearing branches and leaves down with her as she bounced between trees, leaving a path of undeniable damage - all of this accompanied by a terrified shriek that echoed across the whole valley, as if the crashing noise wasn't enough.
She laid, stunned, in the midst of branches, tail trapped under one, front limb under another smaller one. She pushed the branch off her leg after she blinked away the dazed confusion. It hurt - throbbed rather nicely even - but her tail hurt far worse. And she knew she wasn't pushing that branch off. So, she shifted back, cradling the injured arm as she shakily pulled herself out of the mess of branches and leaves, spitting one leaf out of her mouth even. She managed to make her way to a tree trunk and lean against it for a moment as the fear faded and the pain from the multitude of cuts and bruises - and hell, maybe more with regards to her tail, arm and wing - sunk in. Her legs trembled under her weight, however little that was, but she gritted her teeth and stood straight again. She had to get back, get water, rinse the cuts off, wrap her arm. Her ancestors had made it through wars with fatal wounds. She could make it through this. She had to. And so, she began to stumble back.

The neediness that swelled within him continued to get stronger, and he knew if he didn't make a move soon, he would snap and take a kiss too far, too soon, or something like that. So, planting a kiss on her forehead, he drew his arms around the draca, allowing himself to drift into his temporary state of rest.
-----
And as he stirred out of that rest, it did not take long to realize his lack of warmth. Sure, the blankets kept him warm, but the heat that his princess provided was gone. Jerking up, his head whipped back and forth, in fear that something had gotten her. With a hiss, he remembered the wound he'd received yesterday, but ignored the pain that sudden movement had caused. It was healing quickly- he was a demon and they healed quicker than humans- though that didn't stop it from reopening slightly. He only brushed the fact off, it'd close in a few minutes anyways.
The demon rolled off of the bed- just the way he liked doing it, and looked around, hoping she'd left something to indicate she'd be gone. If he found that, his worry could be eased. And there it was- words rubbed into the dusty, un-used surfaces. She'd be back? How long ago had she written that? He'd have to go check. Even if she had written that, it didn't mean he didn't miss that uneasy feeling in his chest.
So he turned down the hallways, struggling to remember the way they came. He'd already gone down a few, before he noticed the arrows scorched into the wall. A grin crossed those lips of his in realization. Vee knew he would have trouble finding his way around. He'd been great at finding his way around in the city- he'd lived there for a while. Here... not so much. He had the directional sense of a toddler here.
So he followed those arrows now, instead of relying of his terrible sense of direction. As he reached that fresh mountain air, he was relieved, very relieved. It was open, and he could see further now, his two-toned eyes gazing at the area around. There were no more arrows to follow, so he could only try and guess which way she'd gone. By scent, it didn't seem like she'd gone much further from where he was currently standing.
Then where was she? He peered at the drop, suddenly wondering if she'd-- holy shit. There was mass destruction down there, trees were broken, large branches snapped, leaves everywhere. That must mean... she'd fallen? Or course, she'd have to have transformed to create such damage. Worry surged from his stomach, to his chest and esophagus, feeling like it was going to burst out.
He turned, starting to run down that slope, though, once he realized he was going much too fast, he turned on his side to slide down, right leg stretched out, left bent, as if he was skateboarding down. And that was when she came into sight. Battered and bruised, and her arm looked like it was definitely bleeding.
"Princess! You okay? What happened!?"
A stupid question, seeing as she definitely did not look okay, and it was pretty obvious what happened, but he needed to ask it as he rushed to her. And of course, the nickname slipped out unknowingly, already a habit. Then, the demon was scooping her up, planning to ignore any protests if there were any.

Long enough, it seemed for him to scoop her arm in his arms. She hissed a moment - it was hardly kind to her bruises and cuts, despite his best intentions - but the shame of being unable to fly burned far hotter than the pain. She couldn't even meet his eyes for a moment as she answered, words hardly more than a mumble.
I wanted to fly. My wing gave out.
Her cheeks burned red with the shame - not only was she a dragon who apparently couldn't fly, but she had no idea when she'd hurt the damn thing. She hadn't changed yesterday, and she'd flown the day before that. It didn't make sense, and that made it all the worse.
It was then she truly realized he was carrying her, and she promptly hit him - gently, careful not to hurt him this time - and with her good arm of course. She glared at him, though the effect was considerably lessened from the prior embarrassment - though the words were only made more punctuated by it, so it evened out.
I can walk on my own! I don't want your help!

She was just getting herself into way too much trouble. How long would it be before she got into even worse. He had to admit- he was kind of surprised she had survived this long without him.
A thoughtful look crossed his face though, as his princess stated her wing had given out. Hm, she must have hurt it when she'd hit the tree yesterday. Well- that was awful luck, now wasn't it? A look of genuine sympathy crossed his face, though he didn't acknowledge her embarrassment- not wanting to upset her.
"Well, sorry. Probably gunna take a little while for your wing to heal. You did take quite the hit yesterday..." he said, though the last statement was half to himself, while the rest was honestly apologetic.
He started to ascend the slope, hiding the fact it was a little difficult to carry her at this angle. He wasn't complaining though- he just wanted her back to... real solid ground was the only way he could think of to describe it.
It was then he realized she'd hit him! And was saying she didn't want his help! A crooked grin crossed his face, trying to hold in the rising laughter at how grumpy she was being about accepting his help. Thankfully, only a small chuckle leaked out, and he cast her a smile.
"But you need my help."
If she argued with him again, he knew the perfect way to get her to give in. Something he'd been waiting way too long for.

She replied, grumpy tone loud and clear even though the words themselves were muttered. If it wasn't for the threat of falling, she would be struggling a whole lot more than she was now - which still consisted only of the original whack to his chest and the glare. With his next words, she huffed, glare turning to sheer annoyance.
I do not. I can walk just fine, Kishou. It's not like a broke a leg or anything. I'm not some helpless damsel in distress, royal blood or not.
Of course, she continued on with her grumbling past that, but those were the only discernible words, as past that point, her voice dropped lower into incoherent grumblings.

It just wasn't the time and the demon did not have the energy to try and convince her.
It wasn't entirely obvious, but the red-head was struggling to hold in more laughter. She sounded so peeved, and that- he couldn't help but be amused by it. He just smiled in return to that annoyed look, reaching the top of the slope, and yet not putting her down yet.
"Yes, you could walk. But I bet your arm hurts," he said pointedly, a crooked smile cocking it's way on to his face before he spoke again. "Oh- I know you're not a helpless damsel in distress. Just lemme have this moment, okay?" His face seemed to grow serious for a moment, watching her grumble on, though even with his good hearing, he couldn't discern what was said.
And instead of questioning- he finally did it. He leaned in, just a tiny peek of a smile hinting across those lips- before he placed them on hers. It was only lips- he knew better than to go any further, no matter how badly he wanted to shove his tongue in her mouth. But it was a kiss nonetheless, not extremely long, but no quick peck. He'd give her a moment to respond if she wanted to, before he pulled back.
There that look was again- the same one he'd had last night.

If he knew, he damn well would have asked if she wanted help first. And, quite honestly, she probably would have taken the offer. But, as it was, he hadn't asked and she was rather offended by it - something she'd stick fervently to. At least, that was what she was trying to prove until, right in the middle of of a word, his lips pressed to hers.
And, despite the shock that caused her to flinch a moment - and nearly tumble head first out of his arms, until she'd wrapped her good arm around his neck - she wouldn't have traded it for the world. It wasn't like it had been her first kiss, though she hadn't seen it coming in this particular instance. That, mixed with the relatively short length of it, left him being the only participant, something she wasn't sure she was happy about.
And, when he had pulled back, she simply stared at him, eyes slightly wide, but not pulling away. Not fighting, nor glaring, nor hitting him either. Just staring for a moment. She wasn't blind to the look on his face - she'd seen it before, but never on someone who had the respect to stop without her even asking. To keep it chaste and simple until approval was earned. She knew that he'd be willing to wait, even if he didn't want to, he would. That told her more than his words would have, and for the first time since he'd picked her up, her tense muscles relaxed. So, against a notion of common sense, she closed her eyes again, this time initiating the kiss.
Well. She had little doubt it would at least surprise him. And that gave her a rather decent amount of satisfaction.

He tried to hold in a shudder of pleasure that just came from the thought of her actually complying to the kiss. His arms tightened just slightly around the smaller figure as the almost too-short kiss was ended.
His two-toned eyes remained locked on Vitae's red ones, filled with desire, watching her curiously. She didn't say anything, so he didn't either, just keeping his focus on that face of hers. He couldn't look anywhere else. Anywhere else might spark up dirty thoughts, and he really didn't want to have a random "is that a banana in your pants or are you just happy to see me?" kind of moments.
He just waited for her to say something, but when she didn't, and kissed him instead, he was more than surprised. The demon's body stiffened in that surprise, before relaxing, kissing her in return. He was cautious, not only for the fact he didn't want to piss her off by being too bold, but also for the reason that he did not want to lose control. It wasn't often he did- but when he did, he really did.
Kishou's weight shifted, and one arm let go of her. He didn't drop her though- no, his right arm supported her- maybe not with extreme ease, but enough to allow him to do so. The free hand- the left one, slipped over her cheek, to her hairline behind her ear. The action was aimed to be tender- surprisingly so for him.

It wasn't that it wasn't nice - she was sure it was, but they'd skimmed something that had hurt, even if the touch had been gentle. She actually scowled for a brief second at the ruined moment before reaching over with her own hand, fingers grazing a splinter. Yeah, that would do it. With a wince, she pulled it out, grimacing slightly before flicking it away, head tipping to land on his shoulder with a sigh. Her arm slid down from around his neck, more so because it was now in an awkward position than anything. Yet, she still said nothing. It was difficult to think of something to say, to be quite honest. Until, about a good minute later, she finally did - albeit on a completely different topic.
I should get these cuts rinsed out. Draca's don't heal very fast, so I'd rather not get any of them infected.
She murmured softly, though she sounded distracted. Her mind was most definitely not on her cuts and bruises, no matter what her words would suggest on the matter. Then, she simply nuzzled her head into his neck, wishing her bad arm wasn't hurting so much, so that that one could drape over his shoulder and around his neck, since that wouldn't twist her muscles and joints awkwardly. She settled for resting it along his chest, since it would at least keep it relatively straight if it was, indeed broken - though the chances of that, now that she'd shifted back and had the bones break and mend already, were minimal. It probably just felt like it was broken because it had been. Wings and tail, things that were not present on both of her forms, would never be so lucky and would have to heal normally, but things like ribs, arms, legs and such all usually healed with just a simple shift between forms, though the pain would last a few days.

He didn't bother saying 'I could have gotten that for you,'- he felt it was unneeded, though he actually would have asked for help himself. He wouldn't have wanted to accidentally cause the splinter to go in further. But it appeared that the draca had it covered.
He stood, awaiting her voice, waiting for her to speak- to say something. Though, she was quiet for quite a while, and he couldn't bring himself to start walking again until she said something. When she finally spoke, he was hoping for something on the two kisses they'd just shared, but he was disappointed as she spoke of her cuts. Of course, her health and well-being was much more important than discussion on the kisses.
But, that didn't help with Kishou's thoughts. Was he a bad kisser? Is that why she didn't say anything about it? Were they horrible kisses? Was she kissing him because of how needy he had been looking (he felt the need, so he only had to assume it'd shown)? Had she only kissed him out of pity? He sure hoped not.
But that would have to wait until after they got her wounds rinsed out and tended to. So he just started walking again, accepting that nuzzle from his princess into his neck. If she was acting this way, the kiss couldn't have been all-bad right? He'd liked it- so he sure hoped she felt the same.
"Just back to the room? Is there some... medical area I should be taking you to?" he questioned, voice half-joking, just in an attempt to be a little playful, that demon tail of his waving slightly back and forth, like a leisurely wag.

From where her head rested, she only got a decent view of his neck, shoulder and upper arm - none of which was particularly useful in determining anything, really. But she didn't care, really. The aches and pains were miserable, so she was taking comfort in the better things about the situation. Namely, no matter how much she had complained before, being curled up in his arms as she currently was. She may have been unhappy about not being asked first, but that didn't mean she disliked being close to him. In fact, she wasn't even hardly paying attention to what he said at first, though the words sunk in at one point a few moments later.
There's stuff in the room I changed in yesterday. Mom always had to look after dad herself. He was too stubborn to see a doctor when he got hurt.
She replied softly, voice echoing slightly in the caves as she let her eyes close, quite comfortable right where she was. In fact, a small smile even rested on her lips. He couldn't see it, though she had no idea if he could feel it or not - and she really didn't care. It was just nice to feel cared for, for the first time in a long, long year alone.

He started heading that way, his head facing forward, but his eyes on the beautiful draca in his arms. Yeah- he could be cheesy as hell when he felt like it... no, never mind, he was cheesy most of the time. But there were some times where he would do it purposely instead of just subconsciously.
So, walking in that direction, he tried to keep his thoughts from straying to how he was holding his princess- in bridal style- the typical way for a knight to catch a princess as she fell, the way grooms held their brides... The demon's face painted itself red at this thought, heat burning at his cheeks. What an embarrassing though. His eyes trailed to his own self, trying to imagine himself in a tuxedo. But those thoughts led towards how Vitae would look in a wedding dress.
And finally, he brushed those thoughts away. He was thinking way too far ahead just because of a simple position he was carrying Vitae in. He needed to stop getting so distracted. And finally, after those trailing thoughts, he spoke, stifling a small chuckle.
"I can relate. I refuse to go to the doctors. Don't think I've been for years."
He did feel that smile on him, and it brought his own smile to his face, that same signature crooked one. Almost to the room, he slowed his pace, giving himself a little break. And as the demon got to that room with the supplies, he shifted his weight a little, so Vee could get out of his arms if she wanted to.
"Where do you want me to put you down?"

She murmured softly, slipping out of his arms, though she wound up with her hand on his shoulder for a brief second while she found her balance. Then, she stepped over to the wall, pushing in on what looked like a loose stone. It stayed in, though a compartment in the wall opened up at the same time, bandages and things off to the left, with a small waterfall sort of water source, with the water pooling in a sink-shaped hollow before draining out to somewhere else.
She carefully filled a small bowl with water, rested her hand against the edge before heating it up. The water was just below boiling before she stopped and grabbed a small cloth, dipping it in and using the warm water to clean the wounds. She kept her body temperature just as high - it was better to be safe and have it evaporate quickly than it was to not, and potentially die as a result. Even so, she worked quickly, heating up the water regularly as she did. She ignored the ones on her back for now - she'd deal with those later. Mostly, it was a way to put off asking him, at least for now. As if that would make her blush any less noticeable.
Of course, it could only be held off so long before she peered over her shoulder at him, cheeks very clearly tinged pink. She bit her lip a moment, hand finding its way to the water bowl again to warm the liquid now that the easily bandaged cuts were dealt with.
Um. Could you... um, help? There's a few I, uh... I can't reach.
She glanced away quickly, embarrassed, slipping the torn jacket off that had covered her shoulders. It was ruined now anyway, but even so, she found herself staring at the water as the small bubbles tell-tale of a near boiling temperature began to rise.

Kishou allowed Vitae to slip from his arms with ease, two-toned eyes locked on her with a sense of worry. He knew that his princess could take care of herself- for the most part at least- but that didn't stop him from feeling those emotions. And yes- they were emotions he disliked- well, at least he would tell you he did. He really used to- but now, he was learning to... accept them in a way.
Shifting his thought process, he watched with amazement as she cleaned her wounds with that boiling water. She acted like it was barely hot at all- but he was sure he would feel uncomfortable touching water as hot as that. Maybe he wouldn't get burned, because his skin was a tad tougher than humans', but he was positive he wouldn't quite enjoy the feeling.
But of course- he would do anything for his princess. What kind of knight in shining armor would he be if he didn't? Smiling softly at that obvious blush of hers, he nodded confidently, the demon's smile spreading a little- becoming softer.
"Of course, princess."
