Either he really smelled bad and she thought it was hilarious, or he didn't and she just thought it was funny he actually thought that. But with her words, he was grinning again, casting her a cocky look.
"Are you left handed? Or right handed?"
He didn't tend to pay attention to whether people he knew were right or left handed, but now he was curious. Elbow room was really only needed if she was left handed, for he was right handed, and they'd probably bump elbows that way. But he was only currently using his left hand, less stretching that way.
He took another content bite of the rabbit, figuring that the elbow room ordeal might not be the true reason to the distance. But in that next moment, he held his right arm out- with a small wince, barely noticeable-, and held it open as if inviting her to sit closer. And that was definitely what he was doing.
"I'm a 'cuddler'."
The words were said playfully, that grin spreading, eager to see Vitae's response. He wondered if she would take the offer or not. But he didn't stop talking right away. He was definitely a talkative one at times.
"I'm surprised rabbit tastes this good. It's easy to forget it's a cute and cuddly animal."
It almost seemed as if he had forgotten the whole ordeal that occurred only hours ago.

[atrb=border,0,false][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,500,true] | [atrb=background,http://i55.tinypic.com/jj1m5v.png][scrolly:h(175),w(460),sy] Damn him and having some sort of a brain - she wasn't used to that. The guys she'd grown up knowing were mostly idiots. At least, the confidant and cocky ones that acted even remotely like Kishou were. There were always the nerds, most of whom were sweet but far more awkward than she was even being now. She'd felt obligated to encourage them, at least a little, make their life a little less of a living hell - not to mention, it had lessened the bullying, since none of the guys wanted her to be pissed at them. She'd had quite the temper then.
With his arm stretching out - and she definitely noticed the slight pain response - she froze a moment, feeling her cheeks heating up again. She couldn't help the feeling of butterflies in her stomach, but she sure as hell didn't let on to it. She tried her hardest to steel her gaze into a slight glare as she blatantly avoided responding to his invitation - mostly because she wasn't particularly fond of prickling feeling of blushing, and she had little doubt he'd count her giving in as a victory and try to push it with some sort of comment or something. She doubted an action, unless a small one with little implication. He, for all intents had purposes, had been quite the gentleman thus far and she had no reason to think he'd change now.
If it hurts, that usually means you shouldn't do that.
She openly said it, though the blush remained and she was still staring at the extended arm as if debating whether or not to just let him win this round. Then, the topic was switched to the rabbit, and she was rather thankful, though her teeth still dug into her lower lip slightly until she spoke in response.
It gets even easier, when it's one of the few things available to eat.
The only hint that it was no longer really her shared memories that allowed her to hunt with such ease was in that statement. She had no idea what his thoughts were on what she'd eaten while living in the woods and mountains, but this confirmed it - there had been no grocery runs. Just her, weapons, berries and wild animals. That was it. It had been a tough transition at first, but it had quickly become second nature when she needed to rely on it to survive.

But of course, he didn't want to lessen the chance of her actually joining him and 'cuddling' with him, so he did not point it out. He figured she knew after all. Her cheeks probably felt warmer and she had this funny look on her face- a glare maybe?
Holding in a chuckle, he glanced down at where the wound was wrapped up, before stealing a glance back at the draca. He kept that arm outstretched, still waiting even after she spoke.
"Do I look like I listen to things like that?" That grin remained. It only hurt when he made drastic movements. Anything else just felt like a slight tug- a mere annoyance. Over the years with his semi-abusive parents, he had grown a pretty good tolerance to pain.
"Plus, the pain's worth it, if you decide to cuddle with me."
He nodded at the statement about how hunting gets easier. He figured. Currently, he was really hungry. If he hadn't been, he wouldn't be scarfing this formerly cute and cuddly animal as he was now. Though it wasn't quite the disgusting scarfing. He was a quick eater all in his own. He didn't respond to that though, silent for a few moments, before speaking again.
"So does that mean you're not gunna cuddle with me?"
The demon held in laughter, those two-toned eyed twinkling with amusement, as well as an honest will to cuddle with her.

[atrb=border,0,false][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,500,true] | [atrb=background,http://i55.tinypic.com/jj1m5v.png][scrolly:h(175),w(460),sy] She sighed and rolled her eyes at his stubborn refusal to listen when something hurt. But she didn't have a chance to reprimand him, for then he spoke again - and she hadn't been lucky enough to switch the topic apparently. Much to both her dismay and joy. Half of her rejoiced at his persistence; she could give in like she wanted and maybe let him believe that it was simply her being easy to convince. He'd know, of course, eventually, when he truly tried to convince her of something and found her adamantly stubborn.
And then came those last words that, despite the vaguely pouty word choice, sounded nothing short of amused. She clenched her jaw a moment, steeling herself to hurt him by saying yes... But then found the word wouldn't even form as a thought. The only thing that came to mind was an incessant "no". No, that didn't mean she didn't want to cuddle with him. It just meant she was nervous about this whole thing for no good reason, since she had yet to actually think of even a bad reason. The closest she'd come was "this is a bad idea, if you piss me off by accident, I'll accidentally roast you." To be fair, it was a good reason - but only a good reason for him to be careful, not for him to stop.
And, without some reason, her stubborn streak really didn't have a reason to shine through, and that was perhaps part of what bothered her. She didn't want to say no. She couldn't even picture herself saying it - and that was brand new concept. Somewhere, in the back of her mind, there was a pushing, like someone was grumbling at her to just get it over with already if she was going to in the end anyway. So, with a slight hesitance, she gave in, putting on a slight scowl so that he didn't win on every front. Not that he'd probably care.

Of course, it probably wasn't a grinning matter, but he took the pain as a sign that it was healing. After all, if he couldn't feel his stomach, that wouldn't be a good thing, now would it? He'd figure his stomach wasn't doing it's job.
oh lord what if the rabbit came out of his stomach!?
Of course, typical Kishou, thinking irrationally like that. Of course, he didn't really think that that would happen, but it wouldn't hurt to check... right? And he did, extremely subtly- hoping his princess would not notice (after all, it might give her another reason to think he's insane).
He felt his stomach with the hand connected to the arm that he wasn't holding out to the draca, fingers grazing the tattered surface of his shirt- at least trying to with that rabbit meat in his hand. The surface felt flat, like his stomach normally felt. Nothing different asides from the bandages and herbs that Vitae had provided.
And after that, and what felt like an even longer moment, the other seemed to give in, scooting closer, though with a scowl on her face. His arm went around her, pulling her closer than she might have liked- outwardly- and giving her a smile. He didn't say So you doooo?, but it definitely crossed his mind. He debated not speaking at all, but after he finished that rabbit- yes, he'd finished it already, he stuck the arrow into the ground so it would support itself while he spoke.
"I really liked this shirt," he said, almost in a playfully wistful voice, fingers messing with the now frayed edges where the dragon's claws had torn the fabric. "It was my favorite one. But at least he didn't get my jacket right?" He flashed his signature crooked smile, showing he was half joking about all of that. Hopefully she'd loosen up a bit.

It could easily be mistaken as a flinch, of course, if one was not looking at her face. She'd been good at hiding her own pain so far, but being jerked over certainly didn't help matters. He didn't mean it, she knew that, but getting thrown against a tree wasn't exactly good for your well-being. Still, she didn't say a word. She didn't want to make him feel bad; that wasn't the intention. Instead, she just finished off her chunk of rabbit and tried not to move until her muscles and back stopped aching.
She smiled slightly at his comment, trying not to giggle, though her shoulders still shook a moment, at least until she realized the pain hadn't quite faded again yet, and she stiffened up, stopping the laughter to stop the pain. She stilled smiled, though it was slightly forced.
There are other shirts, Kishou. In fact, I'm sure there's stuff here.
She pulled her head back a moment, looking at him with a critical eye for a moment, sizing him up - very literally. She nodded slowly.
Yeah. There should be for sure. You're about Takai's size.
She didn't mention Takai was the brother she'd never known. She didn't find it pertinent; though the question would probably come up with the fact the clothes had a silver trimming and were definitely really good quality, better than the blankets. But that wouldn't matter until then.

She was hurt too wasn't she? She had gotten flung into a tree. He'd almost completely forgotten. She hadn't said anything or appeared hurt this entire time.
And now, feeling awful, the demon's two toned eyes glanced down at the draca, hoping she wasn't mad. He wanted to pull away- look her over for injuries, but he wasn't sure how that'd be taken in the long run.
"I'm sorry," he apologized immediately, eyes filled with concern. His arm around her had loosened. "Are you hurt... like, asides from bruises or whatever? Is there anything I can do?"
Her smile- though it was slightly forced- he could tell- was a relief. He glanced down at his shirt again, instead of at Vee, free hand tugging his shirt, a playful pout on his face.
"This was my favorite shirt though." He glanced up, the pout breaking into a grin. He couldn't keep that pout long. He raised an eyebrow then, his grin fading to a confused look.
"Uh, Takai?"

She didn't mention that it was likely she'd bruised the bone. Hit something that hard, more than just skin and muscle bruised. It was inevitable. Which meant she'd be sore for quite a few days, and probably stiff, though she'd deny it entirely. But she did make sure to mention it was her back - it had nothing to do with the tightness of her grip. She wasn't sure why she thought it important he understood that. For once, she decided not to try and dig deeper into it.
She let the insistent comment about it being his favourite go, finding nothing to really reply to there. He was just being a stupid guy, she could tell that much. It still made her smile a moment. It wasn't stupid-stupid, like believing he could win a fight against 20 guys at once or something outrageous like that. Just foolish-stupid. But then came the question and she slowly lifted an arm to tap her head.
Collective memory, remember? Names included.
She offered him an amused smile, shifting a bit to get up, hand outstretched as the fire swept up and slid toward her, encircling her wrist before disappearing into the palm of her hand in a snake-like rope form. Then, she stood up, offering a hand down to him. He was clearly feeling better, and it would probably be safer inside for the night. Warmer too, and with him injured, she wasn't taking any chances. They still had plenty of time, hours in fact, until nightfall, but still. She did sort of want to check the place out. She'd never actually been there herself, after all.
Come on. Changing out of bloodstained clothes will probably help, at least on some level.
Once he was on his feet, she leaned down to grab the remain meat and the arrows from the ground, sticking them in the quiver before slipping his arm around her shoulders. If he started getting lightheaded, she had little doubt he wouldn't say a word. This way, at least he wouldn't fall and hit his head before she had a chance to catch him.

[atrb=border,0,false][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,416,true] | [atrb=background,http://i56.tinypic.com/20i9847.png][scrolly:h(222),w(373),sy] The demon was definitely relieved when he heard those first three words as the draca spoke. He didn't show it completely, just smiling to show that relief. But that did not stop him from worrying anyways. The thought she might be in pain irked him- more than most things did. It hadn't even irked him that much that he'd been attacked, or when Vitae had seemed to dislike that he was a demon. There was just something about that thought.
It took him a few moments to clear his thoughts of that mindset, only replying as she reminded him of the collective memory. A sheepish chuckled released itself from his throat, his left hand rubbing the back of his head in an embarrassed gesture. It only further mussed up his hair, making it look a tad crazier than it already was.
"Uh, yeah, sorry, that takes a little getting used to."
His eyes shifted from her face to that fire that swirled it's way around her wrist and into her palm. He didn't say anything, but it was clear by the look on his face that he was definitely impressed with what she had just done. His eyebrow lifted as she said that, trying to resist pulling another pouty face. Did he want to get up and move? No. Did he have to? Yeah, pretty much.
So he did, soundlessly, and surprisingly without a cringe, mostly with the help of Vitae. It wasn't that he was in too much pain to move, he was stiff more than anything, so assistance was greatly appreciated. The stiffness was definitely evident, in his eyes and the way he moved. Laughing softly, he spoke again.
"Ah, thanks, dunno what I'd do without you." The statement may have sounded sarcastic, but it was clear it wasn't by the playful tone in his voice. "I should be the one helping you." Playful eyes were cast her way, a crooked smile in suit.

She retorted back with raised eyebrows, as if challenging him to find fault in that, though a smile - difficult to contain - twitched at the corners of her lips. She managed to hold it in a moment more before grinned, chuckling softly. Still, she didn't concede defeat and stayed exactly where she was. How much of that was to use it as an excuse to just be close to him, she wasn't sure and she didn't care to think about it right now.
The walk to the caves themselves wasn't that far and by now the fire that had lit the way the previous night had spread around throughout the whole of the tunnel system, with an exception of the few offshoots that weren't lit. Of course, it was made obvious they were heading somewhere relatively important by the widening of the troughs, allowing more flame, and the more elaborate gemstone designs that glittered on the walls.
Finally, they entered an open room which seemed to glow golden from the light the flickered from the flames and bounced off the bits of silver, diamond and rubies. There was bits of quartz as well, though not much, and that was mostly on the table in the middle. She guided him to one of the rooms to the side, next to what appeared to be a room that wasn't quite finished.
There should be clothes in there. Get changed.
She informed him, slipping away and disappearing into the only other finished room that came off of the main one without saying a single word more. Expecting him to hopefully be able to hold any questions he had until he was changed, she went to the wardrobe in the room, flipping through the clothes. On one side, the clothes of a king, her father. They were identical to Takai's, of course, albeit a bit bigger. Khamar had been a far more burly man than his son. Vee, however, was very much her mother's daughter, an she grabbed a set of clothes from that side of the wardrobe, slipping them on and reattaching the sword, which now matching her outfit.
All outfits in the Sanctuary would have been made to fight in; she was hardly concerned with maneuverability. Pausing to look in the mirror, reflection faded with dust, she nearly forgot to breath. Replace the white hair with black, and she would have sworn she was staring right at her mother - at least, from every glimpse she'd gotten of the woman in her memories. She shook it off, slipping back out to the main room, sitting on the edge of the table since there were no chairs. Where they'd disappeared to, she'd never know.

Kishou couldn't help but laugh after his response, the ringing laughter echoing around them. Yeah, the fact he could start bleeding was very true- and possible, but who was to say her back could hold up to his weight and support him? Of course, that sarcastic and playful remark was left unsaid, not wanting to accidentally offend the draca.
And as the demon stumbled- he thought, okay- maybe he did need the support, but he'd hardly admit that. The injury had not made it this difficult to walk at first, It'd been not too bad, except for the blood and pain- okay maybe it sucked, but it was nothing compared to the stiffness from sitting that long. So here he was, hobbling like an old man and using his princess as a crutch- or cane, or a mix between the two, despite her size compared to him.
And he didn't like it- only because he felt like he was burdening the small girl.
"I'm sorry- bout you havin` to help me," he made sure to say, his two toned eyes locked on the faint partial smile that had twitched at her upturned lips briefly. But the beauty of the surroundings soon took his attention away from Vitae, his head turning every which way, eyes scanning everything. The jewels everywhere- everything was super fancy, and he couldn't help but think this was definitely where the royals had stayed.
There should be clothes in there. Get changed.
And then his princess left, leaving him to change into clothes of someone he didn't even know. Somehow, it felt wrong wearing the clothes of the dead. But he knew it couldn't be helped, so the red-haired demon pulled out some clothes. They all looked the same to him- nothing stood out to him- every outfit fancy and almost old fashioned.
So, ignoring that pain in his stomach from all the moving, he prepared himself, slipping off each bit of clothing, carefully and one by one. The shirt was the worst, having to slide it over his head, and replacing it with a long-sleeved blue, super-fancy-probably-prince-shirt.
An after he was all finished with the clothes- he felt definitely cleaner and refreshed- and also very odd, almost out of place.
"This is weird..." he mumbled to himself, fingers tugging on the buttons of the shirt, his back on the wall, as he waited for Vee.

She said nothing about it, though, and she wouldn't unless he brought it up. She had just sent him off to get changed, gotten changed herself, then settled to wait. When he didn't come out for awhile, though, her mind jumped to the possibility that perhaps he needed some sort of help - the shirt, in particular, had to be tough to change, considering his wounds. She slid off the table, heading in, eyes down on the floor just in case for a moment, until she caught sight of the hem of the pants on him. Then, she looked up and realized he'd just been doing the same - waiting.
Of course, after that initial realization, she froze, staring at him. He rather looked the part, something she hadn't quite expected - though she had subconsciously hoped a bit. She forced herself to move, though it only ended up with her glancing down, then back up and a shift in her weight from one foot to the other.
Looks like they, uh... fit well...
She managed to mutter, a faint blush rising to her cheeks, though it wasn't enough to be particularly noticeable in the lighting, not unless he was closer. For that, she was thankful, though she still felt rather like an idiot, considering that was all she could think of to say.

Sometimes he found it increasingly difficult to figure out what his princess was thinking, but now, he had no problem. It was like reading any other stranger out there- the way she came in the room was so obvious. She thought he had trouble with his shirt due to the wound. At least- the way she had walked in with her head down, she had to have assumed he was undressed somehow.
And he was definitely flattered she'd come in here, risking seeing him 'naked' in some way, to help him. He was about to open his mouth to speak to her, but as she lifted her head, he got a full view of what she was wearing. It was absolutely gorgeous, he felt a loss for words.
"You look.. beautiful," he said, his voice breathy, eyes locked on her. The look on his own face currently had to be obvious, mouth slightly ajar, those two-tone eyes focused acutely. But then he appeared to snap out of his awe, that signature crooked smile spreading on his face. "Not that you didn't look beautiful before." He clearly felt the need to be sure Vitae knew he wasn't favoring her because of a new outfit.
Looks like they, uh... fit well...
Another grin, moving away from the wall, and glancing down at the pants he now adorned, and at the- what he would call 'frilly' shirt. He noticed the draca's embarrassment- not the blush, he just knew when she was feeling a little 'flustered.' She always spoke with a little less confidence when she felt that way. He felt a little proud that he did that to her- even if it was maybe-only-sometimes.
"Hm, yeah they do fit pretty well. They're a lot different than what I'm used to." That grin turned sheepish, almost embarrassed.

However, he did manage to stop speaking for a few moments and she could feel the pink in her cheeks deepening. She took a few steps closer, shrugging as if it was nothing, really. It wasn't, but still.
They were my mom's. Mine would have looked the same. They're sort of like lightweight protection against magic - and thus creatures of magic. No dragon's claws would get through these. And they move just as well as baggy clothing, without getting in the way.
Back to the technical aspect, if only to stop her from being left stammering like she had when she'd come in. For a moment, a sad look crossed her face as she glanced down a bit.
They don't do anything against bullets or swords, though.
Something that had been the downfall of her people. THey hadn't had time to put armor over top, and with no armor they were just as susceptible to physical blows by regular things as anyone. They had a high pain tolerance, yes, but pain tolerance didn't stop you from dying. It just stopped it from hurting so much. She forced a smile to her lips, one that quickly became smaller, though genuine at that point.

A lot of urges that he wasn't used to hiding or keeping to himself. When he liked girls before, it'd been much simpler. He told them how they felt, what he wanted, and they dated. That kind of stuff. He'd never felt so hesitant- or coy at all. But now, it was all different- again. Vee was doing it. Again. Not that it was a bad thing, it was just a completely odd feeling.
And as she spoke again, he didn't hide the surprise in his eyes. Her mother- hadn't she never met her before? He was glad he didn't say anything, because the memory that the dracas had a collective memory came rushing back. That was definitely taking some getting used to.
"Your mother must've been just as beautiful as you." There was a wistful tone to his voice, that way almost for Vee, though thoughtful. "They definitely seem useful- the clothes I mean." He watched her, wishing he knew what she was thinking. He could only wonder, reaching one hand out, taking his back off the wall, and putting it on the draca's shoulder- hopefully a comforting gesture to her.
In some ways, he wished that the massacre had never happened to her people. But then again... without that massacre, he doubted they would have met. And even if they had- their meeting would have hardly been like how it had been. She was royalty, and he was pretty much a mangy demon off the streets.
