He may as well have been repeating his earlier compliment. Then, there was a hand on her shoulder and she smiled slightly up at him, staying silent a moment. The initial glimpse of surprise on his face made that smile grow a bit. That didn't last longer than a moment though, before her memory got the better of her now that she was neither confused not flustered.
I never did thank you for saving my life.
She murmured. The whole time, she was telling herself not to do anything, that just words were enough, but she was trying to force it away. She could trust him, she knew she could, and she knew it was partially that train of thought that had become normal that was sopping her. So, before she could talk herself out of it, she popped up on her tiptoes, giving him a quick peck on the cheek before pulling away, face flushed red as her eyes found the ground again, teeth finding her lower lip.
So thank you.

[atrb=border,0,false][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,416,true] | [atrb=background,http://i56.tinypic.com/20i9847.png][scrolly:h(222),w(373),sy] Kishou was happy- just to see her smile like that. It was uplifting, and contagious. That smile sent him into a full-blown smile, teeth even showing. And showing his teeth when smiling was something he hated doing. Not that he had horrible teeth- he just thought he looked funny with that kind of look on his face, even if it was just a naturally happy appearance.
I never did thank you for saving my life.
That brought a chuckle rising from the demon's throat, his right hand- the one not on Vitae's shoulder- running through his wildly messy hair. Though it was naturally messy and wild, it was even more so now, due to everything that had happened. He probably looked insane. Maybe not to Vee, but probably to anyone else who would see him like this. Not that he cared.
"Heh, really, don't worry about it. It was my pleasure. I wo-"
His voice was cut off by the peck on his cheek- maybe not intended that way by Vee, but Kishou definitely had bad speaking 'timing'. And it was obvious when his cheeks quickly painted themselves pink, even more so than the last time he had blushed in the draca's presence. One hand reached up to touch his cheek, but dropped before it reached it, not wanting it to look like he was wiping the peck off. Far from it.
"Uhh- no problem. Anything for you."
The honesty was surprisingly raw in his voice, those two-toned eyes locked on her with a sort of intensity, before breaking away sheepishly. She probably had no idea how hard it was for him to resist bending down and kissing her on the lips right then and there. But he didn't want to scare her off by being so bold.
So instead, he wrapped one arm around her to pull her closer once more- slowly this time-, and bent down a little- with some protest from his abdomen- to plant a kiss on her temple. That crooked smile crossed his face as he loosened the arm around her, giving her the chance to back away if she wanted, or get closer if she wanted that as well.

Her feet stuck to the ground a moment before she stumbled forward, following the pull.
She flinched when his lips touched her temple, more so from shock at the gesture - that much become clear the moment after, when her eyes shot up with wide eyes. She'd seen it, of course, the caring behind his eyes. But it was always pushed to the back of her mind, until she had no choice but to face it. Just like now.
And as such as she told herself she should want to pull away, she didn't. Didn't want to, and didn't even try. Instead, she just leaned in, letting herself bask in the presence of another who cared for once, head resting against his chest, though her eyes were looking down again. She stayed that way a moment before, with hesitant, cautious arms, she reached up, wrapping them around him loosely. She was still aware of his wounds, and she made sure not to even touch them. She let her eyes close, letting herself drift into half memory, half present, able to imagine they were all still there, but that he was there too. In a perfect world - but it would never be.

Why was she so shocked? He had been dropping subtle hints that he liked her- at least a little bit, if she didn't see how much. Or maybe he just felt like his emotions were so stuck out there that he felt everyone could see them, no matter how oblivious they were. Yet, somehow he doubted that, figuring he was just being self conscious... for probably the second time in his life (or maybe that was an exaggeration).
A smile crossed his face though, as she looked at him. He wanted to say something to her- he didn't know what. But he felt like he should. Though, his mouth wouldn't break from that smile, wouldn't open to speak. So he allowed that silence to stretch. And maybe it had been a good thing, because next thing he knew, Vitae was resting her head upon his chest.
His chest!?
The thought made it hard for him to not shift back and forth on his feet in excitement. He truly couldn't feel any more excitement if he wanted to at the moment. It surged in the very chest that Vee was resting her head upon, and to his face, forcing that smile to remain for a long period of time. And as her arms wrapped around him, his arms did the same, wrapping around her contently.
He wanted to speak, say something. But he didn't, not just yet, in fear of this moment being ruined by his careless speaking.

[atrb=border,0,false][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,500,true] | [atrb=background,http://i55.tinypic.com/jj1m5v.png][scrolly:h(175),w(460),sy] She should have watched the memories a bit better, kept them in better control, because before she knew it, they had taken over. For awhile, it was just the memories she already knew, or deviations of them. Groups of draca wandering through the halls, hunting, training, various simple things like those. Quickly enough, though, they shifted to something new and the stale, damp smell of still water and the darkness of dungeons clouded her mind. The sharp contrast left her tightening her arms around him, pulling closer.
Of course, she hardly realized that she wasn't the only one seeing it. Though, this was different than most. Most memories had a few draca, viewing it from different angles, which allowed her to view subjectively, but this wasn't like that. Even though there was another draca right in front of her, she viewed it through one set of eyes only. And it wasn't a pretty sight, a black dragon - red eyes signifying it as draca and not dragon - chained and muzzled in a cell.
I'm caged like an animal, Lauren!
The voice growled out, as loud as it could with the muzzle blocking his jaws from opening freely. The view moved forward, the flash of white feet at the bottom peripheral, and for the first time she found she could not just see, hear and smell, but feel physically as well - that was not normal. Lauren - for that had to be who's eyes she was seeing through, pressed her nose against the bars, as close as she could to the other.
It's for your own good, Graz. You need to stay away from the outside world, away from that demon, or he'll get you hooked on ginger again.
The memory faded with a growl and the sharp sting of claws across her nose. It left her jerking back from Kishou, rather like when you felt you were fall and jerked to grab onto something. Her one hand tightened on the back of his shirt, her other rising to her nose, almost expecting her fingers to come away bloody, but seeing no blood. Still, feeling normally stayed at emotional, never going further. It was rather an unnerving thought.

Was he suddenly going blind? Was Vitae as well? He could feel her arms tighten around him and pull him closer simultaneously, and that was the most surprising part.
But as he seemingly regained his vision- it fading in not unlike a film, he realized that he had not gone blind, but instead was viewing something extremely odd. To him at least- it was a strange sight, a dungeon, dark and dreary, with Vee at what appeared to look like a prison- cell's bars. He had to take a double take, quickly realizing that this woman was not the one he'd been getting to know for a little over twenty-four hours now.
Instead, she was taller, and sounded an awful like how his princess had sounded when she had supposedly insinuated she disliked demons. But not soon after, his vision shifted to the dragon- no- draca in the cell. That was what instinct told him at least. What was going on?
But his thoughts were broken by the voice of the unhappy draca in the cell. Lauren? Did Vee have multiple personalities? Because as she spoke, he felt like he was hearing Vee talk to him after the whole dragon incident once again. It was almost haunting. And what she said- was just as eerie.
Had that been why Vee had been so bitter with him at that time? Or Lauren?
He was relieved to say the least when his normal vision returned, and he almost fell over, when the draca- actually physically in front of him- jerked. His head leaned forward, towards Vitae, to try and get her attention.
"Are you okay? What did you do? He had had no idea she had the capabilities to show images- memories- he wasn't entirely sure what it really had been.

She almost didn't hear him, taking a few moments to realize what he'd said and actually comprehend it. It was as if he'd seen it too. But... that wasn't possible, was it? Perhaps it was, how would she know?
It's just... not usually that real. Normally... normally it's just emotion, smell, sight, sounds. But this time... I felt it. I've never felt it before.
She replied, voice a little shaky from the startle of it. Satisfied it hadn't carried over to reality, she pulled closer to him again, trying to force her body to stop the sudden shaking. It wasn't like her to be afraid like this, but the difference... He had nothing to compare it to, not like she did. Just the clarity, the detail... everything was off, even the feeling in her gut. And she didn't like it. Not one bit. So, she resorted to the first thing she thought of that made her feel better, safer.
Him.
Her other arm wrapped back around him, not letting him go, this time forgetting about how he was hurt and she probably wouldn't have cared even if she had.

So the memory had been more vivid than any of the others had been. But what had made this one so different? Was it the fact Lauren took part in it? Red eyebrows lifted, before furrowing, a sense of worry crossing his features.
She clearly seemed shaken up. He could only imagine- for the way she had touched her nose after the memory he had watched her experience, made it quite clear that she had been in that Lauren girl's place during the entirety of it. It made him even more curious to as of why they looked so similar. So many questions flooded his head, that it was beginning to throb.Though, the demon didn't ask anything yet, first answering her, though he was a tad at loss of what to say.
It's okay," he mumbled, voice soft in an attempt at comforting her. He wasn't all too great at comforting others- something most guys were not anyways. The red-head was probably way worse- at least that how it felt. He let his fingers stroke her hair, hand rubbing her back slightly in an attempt to soothe what appeared to be fear.
"Who were they? In the memory. I mean- did you recognize them at all?" he questioned, trying to be a bit subtle about it. He didn't want to rush her with the questions. He'd take them fairly slow for the moment, unless she showed a bit more confidence. Which may mean he might lose this embrace- which he didn't want to- but he didn't want his princess to feel uneasy like she appeared.

It didn't stop the quivering, not right away, but it certainly helped. By the time he finished his questions, it had faded almost entirely. She though a moment before shaking her head 'no' - as best she could with her head resting against his chest again.
I've never seen them. They aren't relatives for sure - there's a certain... tingling, almost, that I feel when I focus on someone related to me, no matter how far back and whether it's by blood or marriage doesn't matter.
She wasn't sure she really wanted to think about it too hard. What if she got pulled into another memory just like it? Then again - how was she to know if this was normal or not? For all she knew, it was just because she was getting older. It wouldn't be one of the only things to change with age. Pain tolerance, strength, speed, ease of change, resistance to water... all of it increased as a draca aged, until they hit somewhere around twenty two. For all she knew, this was normal. Clarity was something that could increase, after all. Still, that didn't quite sound right in her head - and why would it have left such a sickening pit in her stomach if it was supposed to be like this?

Oh, he could stand like the forever- if his body allowed it. Yet, currently, his body was definitely protesting. His stomach had begun to release a gentle, though irritating, throb, while he was starting to feel lightheaded. He didn't say anything though- he wasn't the kind to admit to something as that. No big deal. He'd be fine. He had little concern for himself at the moment- all of it was focused towards his princess, resting so comfortably against his chest.
"Not relatives you say?... I- you were in that Lauren girl's body, right? She looked like you. I don't know if you could see her. But I thought she was you- she was just bigger. It was really weird. I thought maybe you two would be related somehow."
He could see Vitae's uneasiness still, he could almost feel it, being this close to her. He wanted that to go away- he didn't like seeing her like this, because he knew the feeling wasn't good. It was almost sickening, and it made you worry. It was a lot all at once, a bout of conflicting emotions.
"It'll get figured out. Why the memory was so real," the demon spoke, hoping his words were at the least, someone relieving or comforting.

She shook her head more fervently that time, voice still soft and shaky, but firm. She knew she was right on that, and it helped. To know she knew something, even if she didn't know what she wanted to know. She half doubted what he said, that she'd get the answers she wanted. She knew from a million lifetimes that the chance of getting the answers she wanted were small. Not without actively pursuing them.
However, neither of them were in the best position to be looking for answers right now, what with their health - or general lack thereof. Still, moving seemed so... unpleasant an idea right now, as well. She usually soaked up warmth, loving every moment, and although he was cold in comparison to her, she could still feel the warmth from his body, and it was like basking in the sun.
Then again, the thought of a proper bed for the first time in a year was very tempting, and she stole a glance at it. King-sized, certainly large enough to fit the both of them. Not quite ready to just let him go, she pulled back a bit, letting her arms unravel from around him, though her hand grabbed at one of his fairly quickly after that, pulling her after him, already missing the warmth as it faded.
Still, the smell of a bonfire lingered in her nose, making her smile a bit as she dropped his hand, climbing onto the bed, gently lying back before twisting onto her side, watching, waiting - and, even though she was far from it, she may as well have been perfectly innocent minded, from the way her eyes looked up at him, for once fully trusting. Now, he understood. He may have seen only a flash, but it was something. She knew, you didn't just move past anything you saw in those memories, not quickly at least, good or bad.

He knew she must be confused, maybe upset about all of this. To experience such a vivid memory about people she did not know who weren't related to her must be weird. He knew he was a tad frustrated- though he wasn't expressively- because he wanted to provide the answers for his princess. He just wanted to be able to help her, no matter what it was.
But as she stole a glance at the king-sized bed, he felt his own gaze trail to it longingly. It looked insanely comfortable and it only made him want to sway on his feet and just collapse into it. They had a pretty wild -almost two days- now, and he had no doubt Vee was probably exhausted as well.
But that didn't stop the longing he felt when she pulled away, even though he assumed she was only going to the bed. For a moment, he just watched- almost stared, as if he was going to be forced to sleep somewhere else. But he felt her hand in his, and even though it was released soon after, he knew what she wanted, and followed.
And briefly, he stopped, standing at the edge of the bed, staring at the draca. Her eyes were trusting- and that- he appreciated that. He wouldn't try anything with her- at least not unless she said something or course, but he didn't expect that for quite a while of course- no, he was more civil than that. And though a blush glazed his cheeks at the sight of her in that bed, he did not think of something dirty. Not now- no, it was the thought of just laying with her again that spurred the feeling in his chest, what made his heart feel like it was going to burst from his body.
Just as Vitae said, the memory- it didn't leave him, no. But the thought of it was definitely subdued as he slid into the bed with her, his two-toned eyes never leaving her as he laid on his side, facing her. The always forgotten tail- for it was just subconscious now- straightened comfortably against his legs behind him.

She ignored it as he laid down, just watching him a moment, pretty much staring - though she was thinking the whole while, which would be a reason for why she stared when she normally wouldn't. He'd seen the memory, something she hadn't known was possible. They'd been close, closer than now, but it still deserved a bit of experimentation.
I wanna try something.
She told him softly, not speaking any louder than needed, especially since he had far better hearing than her. Before he got a chance to respond, her hand slid to his face, resting on his cheek. One might assume she was about to kiss him - though that wasn't the case. Instead, she closed her eyes and pulled up a memory, an intentional one she had complete control over. She hadn't meant to share the memory last time, but she had wanted him to understand for hours already before that. This time, she focused on sharing it.
It was a simple one, just her brother, Takai, practising his sword-fighting skills with their father, the view objective as it usually was. They were hardly equally matched - Takai was better with daggers than a sword - but the younger man, about nineteen in this memory, still managed to hold his own. Still, that tingling feeling of familiarity reigned, as the only ones present were family members. She smiled a moment, then shifted her attention to the fragile bond between reality and memories. It took a moment to find that balance, something she was used to from simulating techniques.
Somehow, she knew it wasn't working quite yet. She shifted closer, pressing her forehead to his and all of a sudden, it seemed more like a link; like she had with the memories. It was different, but not in a bad way, not like the sickening feeling the other memory had given her. In fact, if anything, this was the complete opposite - it brought the memories out of the region of cold recognition and into a warm region of caring. A small grin spread across her face as she kept the memory in the foreground, yet let her own self drift to the present.
Do you just see it, or do you get everything, like I do?

Just like he had not too long back, he wondered if he had something on his face or something, but that very thought was cut off by Vitae's voice, sending his breath into a hitch. He felt like his heart would burst out of his chest, definitely assuming that a kiss was what was on his princess's mind.
But why was his heart pounding? Never before had he ever felt such eager nervousness for a kiss from anyone. It was quickly that he realized that she had not been going in for a kiss, and he worked hard to hide his disappointment. The only thing evident from it was a slight neediness in his eyes, staring at her with a sort of longing.
It was within those longing depths of those two-toned eyes, that held a sort of confusion. He did not see anything yet- so what she was trying to do was quite unclear. But just as he was about to speak and tell her that, her forehead was pressed against his, and he was tumbling into one of her memories again- though this one was definitely different by a long-shot. Unlike the other one, it gave him a sense of warmth, and he wondered if the two men fighting were her brother and father- they resembled her, and the younger one seemed about his size. To see the person who's clothes he was wearing, sent a sort of chill down his spine, though it really wasn't a bad feeling. Incredible, mostly.
"What do you mean?" the demon breathed out, appearing only half there, such as Vee seemed to be. It took everything he had to not kiss her, and the only thing that really stopped him at that point was being so distant- half in the memory and half out. When he kissed- he wanted them to both be there.

We've been so secluded, there's nothing on sharing the memories. We never had to. Until now.
She replied. She hadn't seen the look on his face, not even before he was jolted into the memory. Her eyes had been closed. Suddenly, in the memory, her brother began getting the better of their father - she could tell it was on purpose, Khamar was softer on Takai than their mother was. He let him get in a win, now and then. When finally, Takai stood victorious, she felt the surge of pride from him, something you could see in the grin on his face, except it wasn't just that. It flooded through her body and mind and, had she been standing, she would have easily wanted to stand a little straighter. She held on a few more moments, then let it go. He'd be able to answer the question anyway.
Even as the memory faded, she didn't open her eyes right away, just let herself adjust to the sudden emptiness in her mind than came in the gap between reawakening her own thoughts entirely and the memories. It lasted no more than a split second, not even a full blink, unless she purposely slowed it, which she did occasionally, just for the peace of it. It was always a relaxing moment, lacking worry about anything at all. Finally, though, she couldn't hold it off any longer and thoughts came rushing back full force as she blinked her eyes open bit.
She let her hand slid from his face toward the bed, pulling it back in and watching him in what could equal a sort of wonder - awe almost, even. It was something she had never dreamed possible, having someone who could fully understand who wasn't a draca. And yet, now, if he didn't... she could show him. Help understanding along. It was full of amazing possibilities.
