"Rev, do you think the dark sky's dangerous?"Arty questioned, his deep blue eyes filled with that desperate light of his. Despite the seriousness of the six year old, Rev grinned foolishly as he extended a hand to ruffle the brown haired youth.
"No I don't think it's dangerous at all, Arthur. Besides, didn't I already promise to protect you from anything, no matter what?"Silas questioned. Arty nodded quickly.
"Of course you did!"Arty agreed, a smile breaking past the serious expression. "I know you will. But still. I want to know what's dangerous. How would you stop the sky from swallowing us all up into the darkness, Rev? Come on, how? You're smart, but..." The young boy cast his gaze away, seeming truly alarmed by his own thoughts.
"You are such a strange kid. How about this. If the sky swallows us up, I'll hold you close, and we'll face the challenge together."Silas promised.
"Mhhm, Arty..." The sudden thud was responsible for more than just adding noise to the quiet cathedral as the seventeen year old rolled from a pew onto the floor. It brought with it dull pain in his chest that, unfortunately, he found he didn't mind. Silas almost thought that it wasn't the fall at all, but rather his heart aching. Silas sat up, rubbing away the sleepiness from his eyes as he considered the possibility.
Good morning, cathedral. Where were the waffles? What time was it? Both good, but unanswerable. Silas yawned, his hand swiftly moving to cover his mouth. Where... where were the people? Even better, where was he?

A few questions seemed to ponder her at night. The one she mainly dreamed about the night previously, was where she actually had just recently come to. Clove moved from another district, not too long ago, and she can't help feeling the need to explore on a free day. A large cathedral came into view as she waded the streets. What a fine place to start, her thoughts answered as she creaked open the door to the large building. It was a comfortable cool in here, for some reason. Shaded from the sun, the heat? She couldn't help but to question the theory. In all, that may be it, but wouldn't the sun just bake the place, rather than the roof cooling it? She removed her black hood from her head and shuffled it to her shoulders in defeat. The light from the windows brightened her hair, warming the glow of the red. Rows of seats from the main platform formed a beautiful scene to the remarkable place. There were statues, all over. The arches in the ceiling seemed to all lead to the center of the cathedral, the front where services must be held to the public. Clove took a few steps closer to the platform. Her heels clacked against the flooring, echoing in the silence. The room was utterly empty, to what she could see. A sudden thud made her jump a bit. It seemed not too far away. A few meters probably, she thought. Her feet ached to be more quiet in this room, where she probably should be, but it was inevitable. As she reached the place of the noise, a boy lied in it's place. She looked down at him, her red hair moving over her left eye as she knelt down, offering a hand to him. She thought he might be a drunk at first, then thought, A drunk in a cathedral? No. And he looks much too young anyway to be drinking, "Are you alright?" She managed to say, looking over him, her emerald eyes scanning, trying to make more sense of what he was doing sleeping in the cathedral.

Being drunk seemed like a small mercy at the moment. Unfortunately, Silas was distinctly not intoxicated. Just... a bit disoriented. His random thought patterns and his distinct, yet unpredictable requests (like his need for waffles) were just a product of his personality and the fact that ninety percent of his time was spent with children of varying ages. No matter- he wasn't on the defensive now since she hadn't verbalized her initial assessment.
Silas had to smile. He had to. Leave it to a kind stranger in a church to so willingly extend a hand to a disheveled youth. Surely Earth lacked these kindnesses and these types of people. He, personally, couldn't fathom getting used to any other civilization. There it was- his mind was getting away with him again. Focus. Hand. Remember? Of course.
"Mmm,"Silas mumbled, sitting up without using her help. "Unless you wanna share your innermost thoughts with me, let's not hold hands." Leave it to a teenager to say it harshly. If his calm tone and expression were any indication, he saw nothing wrong with what he'd just said to her It was an exaggeration. Yes, he could see memories more easily with physical contacts, but general thoughts? No.
"Thanks, though. I'm perfectly fine. I just... er, I fell asleep. Something about this place- this quiet, peaceful place, always makes me sleepy. Guess I just sorta drifted off. Obviously didn't mean to fall, either."Then, as more of an afterthought, he went on to ask another question. "Hey, uhm, never mind that. Do you know what day it is?" As he spoke, his left hand went to the top of his head to ruffle the already-messy blond hair.
{OOC; You can throw any day out there if you want, I don't care much, but asking something silly like that seems like something he'd do. That, or asking what time it was. I went with day. <3}

Clove pulls back her hand in assumption he has mind powers of some sort that must reflect to the touch. She uses the hand and brushes her hair back to behind her ear, leaving the other side hanging over her temples, shaping her face. She stands up to meet his gaze, her emerald eyes caught once again scanning over him. She blinks and looks down at her wrist for a moment, then rubs it gently with her other hand; as if there should be a watch there to look at..course the watch wouldn't tell the day anyway...would it? A quick glance down then up at the boy again makes her think. She closes her eyes for a moment, biting her lip involuntarily. She reads over her mind. When she started packing, when she moved, when she came into town...I guess she never thought of the date. She adds the days to the date she knew last and blinks her eyes to finally say out of sudden thought, "Thursday." She manages to speak after a moment of pause. "Yes, I believe it is Thursday..." Clove folds her hands down to her side casually and thinks over the situation again. She realizes he might have been out for more than a day. The thought flutters through her mind of how you could not wake up for more than a day of full sleep. She was no one to judge how he slept, but he seemed quite well rested by the time he stood up from the floor. "You think you may have been out for more than a day though?" Clove remembers her mother. The way she used to always think of my health first. My health. It hit her for only a moment, but an effective one. "Are you sure your okay? If you've been sleeping for more than a day straight, do you think it was just because you were over tired?" Clove can't help but laugh a bit and brush the hair from behind her ear back to her face without thought.

In hindsight, it might have been a bit presumptuous to assume she'd know the day when he didn't. But something about her expression, the way she closed her eyes and bit her lip, silenced Silas as he patiently waited for her to think it through. When she did get the day out, telling him it was Thursday, he kept the fact that it didn't actually change much to himself. Thursday. Should he suddenly feel differently? No. Why'd he even ask? He wasn't sure.
"Ah- Thursday."Silas echoed in acknowledgement, a pleased smile at his lips. It slipped when she asked about how long he'd slept. What sort of question was that? His 'what day is it' was looking slightly better now. Silas blinked, trying to think of what to say.
"What if I did? Is that odd?"Silas questioned. It shouldn't be too startling, should it? Had he been a vampire, people would expect him to sleep for long periods of time just to pass the years. Shouldn't a faery be held to the same standard? They, too, lived a long time.
"It is possible I was sleeping awhile, but I don't think I was sleeping an entire day. Someone would have woken me in such a public place. But,"Silas paused, his gaze shifting from her to the floor before he went on. "You must understand, the years have a way of dragging on. Anyway, where are my manners?" His cheery expression returned as his gaze lifted back to meet her eyes.
"I'm Silas Gabriel."Silas introduced politely. A minor detail, but one that would hopefully take the focus away from his sudden urge to muse over the implications of his species.

Clove couldn't help but feel kind of startled. As felt as if she took a step back, though in truth, her body was paralyzed into the position she was in. I guess she didn't really take into consideration that he might have been a different species, one who slept longer than only one night; let alone an entire 24 hours without being disturbed. Clove shakes her head, as if clearing the thought.."Oh, I'm sorry. I guess it hasn't really.." Clove hesitates in frustration to find the right words. "sunk in. I'm used to other creatures, and the way they function. It's just that I just moved and I can't really keep my head." Clove pulls her hair behind her ear and shakes off the thought. She comes to her senses and realizes that he has introduced himself. She was about to hold out her hand to shake, but pulls back remembering what he said before. "Clove D'avere." She says with a smile. That probably seemed like the most sensible thing she'd said yet. OOC: Sorry bout the shortage of words..It was an awkward position to respond to. xP

It never occurred to him that there were people from beyond his little sphere of existence. Sure, somewhere far off like Earth was entirely plausible, but just, even several hundred miles to the west might just as well be uncharted terrain as far as he was aware.
"Yeah- hm. Tend to keep a low profile, anyway, those of us that don't age properly. Helps to keep the confusion at bay."Silas mused in explanation. Actually, his own species secrecy was probably a product of their tendency to borrow other species' young. Especially humans, of course. Silas turned his gaze to the girl he was addressing, his expression a charming smile. His eyes caught sight of her hand, but he bit back the chuckle it inspired.
"Don't worry. I lied. You can touch me without worrying about thinking something less than flattering. I mean, I can't read your thoughts, I just see your memories. And only some of them anyway."Silas' tone was cheerful as he clarified, as if this new information was somehow more comforting than the previous impression he'd left. It probably wasn't.
"Pleasure to meet you, Clove D'avere."Silas replied. His mind seemed to run away with him after he spoke. For some reason her name struck him as particularly pretty. Clove D'avere. Just saying it suggested beauty. Leave it to Silas to get so drawn in by a name alone. Meaningless sounds, really. It wasn't even that he liked Clove in particular- he didn't think he knew her that well. He'd still remember her name.
"So, the church? I came here because it was quiet and those who'd seek me out would know to look here. But what're you doing here? I mean, unless it's personal or something."Silas prompted curiously, his gaze shifting from her to examine the spot he'd rolled from initially. It sure had seemed comfortable before, and standing was tiresome... he pushed the thought away, looking back at her. He'd consider sitting later.

The light from the ceiling and the huge windows suddenly blared. The sun has been behind the clouds and it just came back out. The sudden light caused Clove to squint at first, then block it out with her hand. Clove looked behind her for a quick moment. There were seats after just a foot or two of floor. She backed up that foot or so and sat down, preventing the light from shining in her eyes directly.
Clove nodded slightly as he explained himself..or rather, Clove. She was the one who had mistaken. She understood what the other species' did, how they worked, things like that. She had forgotten most of her brain back home.
Giving this person her memories made her think back for a moment when he told her what would actually happen if she touched him. A sudden burst of energy and memories filled her mind with thoughts of her father teaching her how to shoot an arrow, her mother cooking, Clove cooking, her mother and father together...Clove looked up from the thought. She shook it off, but felt she needed to come out on top for some reason. "Yeah. I don't think you'd want to see those. And my hand's probably not any better." Clove lifted her fingers up and stroked over her nails. Her body was usually quite warm to the touch before using her power. it was ice cold after, because it drew the heat from her body. By lifting one finger, a little bit of smoke shuttered from the nail. Suddenly, her palm holds a little candle of a flame. The hand shuts gently after a few moments and the candle disappears. She rests her hand in her other, keeping it warm from the cold that overwhelms her after using it.
A slight smile escaped her lips at this. "Pleasures mine." Clove spoke gently now, her hand cradled in the other at her knee.
Clove nodded as he explained about why he was here. Now it was her turn. "I was just looking around town. For the first time actually appreciating the beauty of this place." Clove's eyes wandered around the room for a moment. She looked around at the now sun-lit room. It was not only bright..but it seemed more like a happy atmosphere now that the room was lit.
